About Paris, Personality, and Some Potent Journaling Questions

Hoping this blog finds you and your relationships in happy, healthy and in tip-top shape!

If you are less than 💯 on that answer and on a quest to spice up your life, then this blog was divinely dropped for you.

So let me share a story from my recent trip to Paris with my husband, celebrating both our midlife birthday (shout-out to anyone else 50 and over 👵🏻👵🏼👵🏽) and our 20th anniversary.

Towards the end of our trip, we were out and about exploring Paris and enjoying our last moments in France, when he said to me: “You’re fun to travel with”.

I looked at him and said: “Duh, like you are just figuring this out.” And we both laughed so hard.

And the thought that went through my mind was that even after kids, after 20 years of marriage, navigating the daily grind, we still have a deep appreciation for fun with each other.

This got me curious why is that. The answer that I came up with, is that we are still two people wanting to grow, individually and as a couple.

So my intention with this blog is to serve you some tips and journaling questions that are on target 🎯 for the Leo “fire” season and also to support you in creating not just more adventure and closeness in your relationships but more richness in your life.

Why? Because Paris highlights and filters aside, many of us experience real and raw work and life responsibilities that can trap us into not showing as our best selves which by universal law, threatens the peace, love, and playfulness in our relationships.

But there is not just an art 🖼️ to healthy and intimate relationships, there is a science to partnership while still holding on to your own sense of individuality, it’s called integration.

Tip 1: Understanding your own personality will not just help YOU personally, physically, and spiritually, it will support your relationships holistically.

How?

Because making sense of what qualities come naturally to you and want qualities do you want to work and develop, helps you make sense of your personality.

Similar to your partner. What qualities seem more natural to him?

If I knew this 20 years ago, this would have saved me from so much suffering. Not because I wouldn’t be triggered by him (not a chance 😉) but because I would have a different perspective.

Ever take a Meyer’s-Brig, enneagram, or get confused and undecided if you are an introvert or extrovert?

In my 40 days of Transformational Awareness Course I share a powerful practice in understanding your personality. It’s called application of the elements; fire, air, earth, and water.

They exist outside and they exist inside you and just like the elements outside, the distribution is different and unique to you.

Tis the season of summer and so today I want to share with you about the FIRE ELEMENT.

Fire outside is the sun, the heat, light, combustion.

Fire inside you is how you move your body, how enthusiastic you are, how motivated you are, how inspired are you, adventurous, playful, creative.

Now when we talk about the elements, the elements are forms of energy that have potential.

Below are high verses lower expressions of the fire element. Reflect and journal on qualities of the fire element that:

  1. Come naturally to you
  2. You express skillfully
  3. You express unskillfully
  4. What unskillful qualities you would love to evolve.
  5. What skillful qualities you would love to develop.

Skillful Expressions of Fire element:

  • radiant
  • glowing
  • warm
  • energetic
  • creative
  • aspiring
  • spontaneous
  • passionate
  • daring
  • assertive
  • courageous
  • self-confident
  • individualistic
  • independent
  • free
  • active
  • enthusiastic
  • inspirational
  • spirited
  • optimistic

UnSkillful Expressions of Fire element:

  • impatient
  • impulsive
  • impetuous
  • uncontrollable
  • burns-out
  • aggressive
  • pushy
  • violent
  • domineering
  • obnoxious
  • overwhelming
  • insensitive
  • manic
  • unrealistic
  • overzealous

Tip 2

Consider reflecting on your partners or any other in a relationship that you want to add more harmony too.

Tip 3

Harmony is not about equal or balance. It’s an integration through honoring the differences and linking, not merging.

I would love to know if this resonates with you, and if you would like you can send me an email to pause@tanyasaunders.com, and I’ll let you know about the fixed quality of this fire season (I really felt it in Paris) that will help you make sense of your own personality.

Happy Leo New Moon, a powerful period to set an intention of learning more about your authentic self so you can shine more in your personality and again by universal law, in your relationships.
