the Unofficial End of This Summer

Bonjour (I’m admittedly still holding on to my Paris high big ‘sigh’) and happy September to you.

Sending you gratitude for allowing me to drop in and serve you with this month’s musings. As a working mom trying to suck the marrow out of the last bites of summer, time is indeed precious.

However, learning to train the mind to truly digest the joy moment to moment is a skill. So TAAADAAA, you can count on me to support any mind wandering that may distract you this month from creating and receiving a life with more joy.

Your life with meaning and significance that you authentically say ‘oui oui’ to day after day, despite any circumstances current or past. Go away inner critic!

Amiright?

Here’s what to expect in this month’s musings:

  • What’s special about Virgo
  • Skillful/Unskillful applications specific to Virgo
  • Tips to focus the wandering mind this month
  • Significant dates

Today’s Work-Life Balance Meteoric Shot of Espresso 🌟☕✨a.k.a a quote for inspiration.

So…the unofficial end of this summer was noticeably tough for me. I played a lot! And as a working mom, the back-to school season feels all too familiar like the Dec. 31st, reflect, reset, re-ignite.

Yuppp. Exactly in that order.

>>> What was frustrating for you last school year, Tanya?

>>> Imagine next June, the end of the school year, how do you want to feel Tanya?

>>> What can you do this month, this week, today to feel that Tanya?

BTW, did you know self-talk is a highly transformative skill. I learned this from Kelly McGonigal. It’s how you can turn on your social brain and be your own coach.

One particular day in early August off from hospital work, I fumbled around my desk looking through my schedule, my husband’s schedule, and all 3 of my kids schedule on a mission to work on my vision and that feeling of blissful work/life harmony (organized, rested, available, intentional, inspired….).

I was imagining me, the working mom being uber on it, wayyyy- ahead of the work-life balance chess game, a master time blocker, and home free of any guilt.

Fast forward to the last week of August…Denied.

WTH. How’d I miss Sabrina’s orientation day? Already? Geezus, it’s not even her first day of school.

It’s no secret in my home that I’m an ambitious working mom who gets frustrated and humbly overwhelmed.

But, It’s also no secret that I have quite the imagination for how I imagine my life to be and feel (sorry not sorry husband and kids).

  • Organized house with mudroom
  • Organized pantry
  • Organized weekly calendar
  • Planned dinners
  • Planned car pools
  • Planned date nights

Ok. Ok, Ok, not always, but I do dream of it.

I did mention I was an ambitious dreamer right?  Work-Life Balance…not.

So how can I really serve you?

Because even when you do try to plan and organize, it’s no secret that the universe will kindly (perhaps not so kindly) show us there ain’t no such thangggg as control.

And if that doesn’t suck as another blow to the working woman’s ego because as science has proven, your thinking will default to “I’m not worthy of the life I would really love”.

But that’s simply not true.

This month’s musings is to serve you with tips specific to this month energy forecast to support you in your thinking and manifesting the joyful life you would love, but with the flow of the universe.

Let’s get started.

We have transitioned from Leo, fire fixed sign into Virgo, mutable earth sign.

What does this mean?

Tip 1

It’s time to change your flow.

Basically as we travel year after year and move through the seasons and the zodiac signs, each sign has a corrective nature to support the balance of the Universe.

It’s time to get personal (and honest). Let’s zoom in, how and where were you a little to extra last month?

Too playful in your…

>>> Spending

>>> Schedule or lack of

>>> Eating

So yesss, as we have moved from an EXTRA active and playful Leo fire energy that was stabilizing what you started in the beginning of the summer (refresh the qualities of fire from last month’s musings here) to now a more serious, practical, logical and get shizzz done (manifest) earth energy.

It is indeed time to plan and get to work.

Virgo is an earth sign. Earth is inward, practical, logical, realistic, and disciplined energy. It’s about structures, resources, your body, food, money, what you value, material objects.

But not all earth energy is created equal.

Tip 2

Here’s how you can apply this earth energy to serve you.

Skillful Expressions of Earth element:

  • Fact check for details
  • Analyze the details
  • Edit to simplify
  • Edit to serve
  • Edit to optimize
  • Patience

UnSkillful Expressions of Earth element:

  • Nit-picky
  • Overly focused on the details
  • Obsessed with the minutia
  • Getting STUCK
  • Perfectionism
  • Self criticism (ahhhhh that’s a big one for me).

Tip 3

Virgo is an energy that is mutable. What does this mean? It’s flexible and adapting. Sounds logical right? It’s a time when we want to be more simple (no more Paris shopping Tanya), complete what we started in the summer season and transition to a fall season here in the northern hemisphere and spring in the southern hemisphere.

To avoid tipping into the unskillful expressions, consider being responsive not reacting to the circumstances around you. Remember, it is a time to fact check…what’s true, what’s not, is it necessary? Remember when we talk about energy it’s about potential.

Virgo energy has beautiful potential in its capacity to be practical and analytical with its genuine desire to make things better and help people.

Tip 4

My last tip for you is to journal on the 3 questions I asked myself. I can’t say this enough to my clients, you need to know what you would love in life to not just create it, but to recognize the feeling over and over. Use the Dream Builder System to support you in journaling and taking manifesting steps.

  1. Imagine: “How would I love to feel this time next year in my Relationships, Time & Money, Well-Being, Career?”
  2. Make it vivid: the clearer it is, you can dial in on that feeling.
  3. Edit: Because I have been using this vision building system for 4 years, I know every month is an opportunity to work with it. Virgo just divinely happens to be aligned with this system. It’s an opportunity to analyze your vision, what has been working, what’s not. It’s called editing.
  4. Agency: Take action. One tangible step to manifest that feeling today.

The prepared mind favors chance. – Louis Pasteur

On the thread of planning and preparing…OMG does September have some significant dates that you can prepare for.

But first, because we are in Virgo season demanding practical, logical, analytical, fact-checking thinking… you may indeed be thinking how is that the planets wayyyyy up there can influence you wayyyy down here???  It’s a question I’ve asked myself (Virgo moon here) and one that I get frequently.

Since my training with Neuroplasticity, studying with Dr. Dan Siegel, making sense of quantum energy, and my grief journey after my brother unexpectedly passed, what I can offer is newtonian physics does not apply to objects smaller than atoms.

There is a quantum non-locality which Einstein called spooky action at a distance. It’s a phenomenon where there is an undeniable passion and relation between particles regardless of time nor distance. This is how I experience some energy that can be mysterious, like my connection with my deceased brother, my natal chart, and yes to the cosmos above.

And because it’s Virgo season which rules your gut, I’d offer go ahead and have a doubting mind, fact-check, take in and digest what’s useful or not, and eliminate the rest.

  • September 3: Venus stations direct. Venus has been in retrograde motion since July 23. It has been a time to notice and re-negotiate patterns and reoccurring stories around your relationships, money, food, how you dress, partnerships, what you authentically value, how you want to be seen, your creativity, and play. Fascinating how Venus stationed the day Barbie launched. Anyone else wear hot pink or bright colors this summer?
  • September 4: Jupiter stations retrograde. Timely invitation to reflect on how extra you were last month and the abundance (wealth) you truly want to call in.
  • September 14: Virgo New New Moon: consider setting intentions on the skillful energies in Tip 1. Where you were being too extra and set an intention how to contribute to more equitable distribution of wealth?
  • September 15: Mercury stations direct in Virgo. Mercury has been retrograde since August 23rd. Mercury stations retrograde 3-4 times a year. Through social media, mercury retrograde gets a dramatic press. I’m not saying I haven’t experienced weird tech things, but for me retrogrades have been about signifiant people or events particular to my chart that surface and are seeking resolution.
  • September 23: Fall Equinox-we move into Libra-air sign. Stay tuned for next month’s musings
  • September 29: Aries Full Moon time to release the tension surfacing? Where are you exhausted? Where do you want to be and feel more independence? What are you fighting? What have you not yet initiated? Or have you been too impulsive, aggressive? THIS OPENS ECLIPSE SEASON

📅 Save the Date: Fall Astrology & Breathwork Experience Retrogrades are indeed fascinating, especially this past Venus retrograde. But the story does not close until Oct. 8. Save your spot here for a deep dive into your retrograde story and how to strengthen connections in your relationships.
